Vision: We envision a future where people across every line of difference come together not in shallow agreement but in shared responsibility building power together to repair what's been torn apart. In this future the community is no longer shaped by fear, isolation, or inherited division, but by the strength of relationships capable of changing systems, restoring dignity and creating belonging for all!
Strategic Initiatives for Youth
Strategic Initiatives for Youth works with young people who are in crisis and those critically "at risk" whether from violence, trauma, poverty or involvement with the juvenile justice system.
We intervene before youth self-destruct to prevent cycles of harm. We are committed to building strong relationships and creating spaces to promote physical, spiritual and emotional healing.

Akron's Faith and Justice Initiative
At Unlikely Partners we believe that Faith and Justice conversations are not just talk, they are the work of truth telling, listening, and working together. We believe the people closest to the pain are the ones closest to the solution, and their voices must lead the way.
Every person bears the image of God, carrying dignity and power, and when we honor that, we unlock the wisdom needed to heal our city.
But let us be clear, this work cannot rest on one group alone. Restoration requires all of us! The community must rise with its strength, The church must stand with its moral courage, and the police must choose to protect and to serve as partners in safety and healing. Alone, each can only go so far but together community, church, and police can rebuild trust, reclaim our streets, and restore neighborhoods as places of peace and promise.
This is not about saving, it is about standing, It is about building a new future from the ground up, a future where justice is equal, where hope is not a slogan but a lived reality, and where our children can walk freely, without fear, in a community that belongs to them!

Unlikely Community Builders is the housing and neighborhood development initiative of Unlikely Partners, dedicated to creating thriving communities where families can flourish.
Our work combines the restoration of existing homes with the construction of new, affordable housing, ensuring a safe and dignified place to call home.
The vision goes far beyond housing, we believe that rebuilding communities requires economic renewal as well. Through partnerships that support local businesses, job creation, and workforce development, we are working to restore not only houses but also the stability that make neighborhoods strong.
Unlikely Community Builders stands on the conviction that healthy housing and economic opportunity are inseparable. By partnering with residents, banks, churches, and other organizations, we are transforming once neglected blocks into places of opportunity, and safety.
